Asphalt paving

Asphalt requires careful groundwork

In order for asphalt paving to be successful, it is important to do the groundwork correctly. The asphalt base must be thick enough to ensure a sufficient load-bearing capacity.

During the groundwork, any potential slopes in the asphalt base are corrected using crushed stone as fill material. Profiling and levelling of the asphalt base are also carried out before the actual paving.

Milling is a sustainable solution

If the road is not too worn, milling the asphalt can be a cost-effective solution. In this case, the old asphalt does not need to be completely removed. Milling is also less harmful to the environment, as the milled asphalt material can usually be recycled.

Choosing the right asphalt

There are many different types of asphalt mixtures for various purposes. The appropriate quality depends on how the paved area will be used in the future.

From individual to large-scale paving projects

Our asphalt services cover everything from large comprehensive projects to small paving jobs. We also pave driveways for private customers.

Our own asphalt plants and CE marking as a guarantee of quality

We manufacture all the asphalt grades we use at our own asphalt plants, which ensures both the quality and availability of the material.

Kiwa Oy (formerly Inspecta) has certified Sundström’s asphalt mix production with the CE marking. The production is under continuous quality monitoring. With the quality control and sampling required by the CE marking, we ensure that the quality of each batch of asphalt meets the requirements.
