Seven-kilometer track
Sundström’s Railway and Land Construction teams were closely involved in the building of Metsä Fibre’s bioproduct mill in Kemi. Sundström had several different projects in the mill area, one of which involved constructing a private railway track for Metsä Fibre. The track connects to the main track and goes all the way inside the mill. Along the seven-kilometer track, there are also two bridges and an underpass built by Sundström.
Sundström had overall responsibility
This railway project is the largest private sector project in Sundström’s history. Sundström was responsible for the railway construction from sub- and superstructure work to the electrification of the track.
