At Metsä Fibre’s Kemi mill, hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of earth were excavated in a relatively small area. Sundström had overall responsibility for the land construction.

Sundström’s Land Construction team participated in Metsä Fibre’s bioproduct mill project in Kemi. A large wood processing area with four buildings, a railway track, and a crane area was built for the mill. Sundström was responsible for all land construction in the area.

During the project, 300,000 m³ of earth was excavated in a relatively small 3.5-hectare area. Sundström also handled groundwater lowering, sheet piling, and substructure work for the railway. Railway construction continued in another project that Sundström was also responsible for.
